Light Night 2009

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 ESV

Our hope for this year is that we will take Light Night into all of Greeley and the
surrounding area! We want to partner with you and your family to make an
impact in our community.
Here is the plan. We will continue to collect candy until October 25th. The following Wednesday our students will divide the candy into small bags that will also include some information on Journey Christian and Jesus! You can pick up bags of candy at the welcome center Thursday and Friday October 29th & 30th (they will be available on a first come first serve basis).

Here are some ideas on how you can make an impact in your neighborhoods on Saturday night:
· Be intentional - meet your neighbors, introduce yourself whether you are at your house passing out candy or walking the neighborhood with your kids.
· Decorate your house with LIGHTS—Shine!
· Chili! - Make a big pot of chili and invite a few of your neighbors over for dinner before trick or treating.
· Make some Apple Cider or Hot Chocolate to share and create an opportunity to talk to parents. Make a small sign for your yard that says-"Hot Chocolate, Apple Cider served here!"
· Make your house the house of the neighborhood! We have a limited number of games and supplies that can be checked out just for this night to make your house extra special.
· Rent a popcorn maker or cotton candy machine for your house. (Find some friends to split the cost if you want).
· Use your garage, it may be cold out, create a stopping point with games, food, or drinks, play Christian music and invite people to hang around for a while and get warm.
· Reverse Trick or Treating—Find somewhere that doesn’t get a lot of visitors, like a nursing home. Go visit some folks and take a healthy treat to them!
· Partner with your Journey Group or Journey neighbors. Get together, pool your resources, have fun and fellowship.
· Want to keep it simple? Have some people from your neighborhood or work over for dinner. Build some relationships.
· HAVE FUN!

Fritzler Corn Maize 2009

by Delmar Schroeder
Glen and Pam Fritzler invited all of the Journey folks for a free fun filled day at the Fritzler Corn Maize. Originally, Journey Day at Fritzler's was scheduled for September 12, but we got rained out, it was then scheduled for the following Saturday or for whenever people could come.

It was an exciting day, perfect weather, and plenty of fun things to do. There is the Maise, The Creature, The Pumpkin Patch, Rollercoaster/Train, Corn Cannon, Jumping Pillow, Pedal Go-carts, the 3D-Maze, plus much more and plenty to eat. There are lots of stories floating around about people getting lost in the maize.

Thank you, Glen and Pam, for making this possible, it is was a huge gift to Journey.
